Scholars Guild Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Georgia's top teams: Peachtree Academy, who was ranked fourth at the time (Scholars Guild Academy was ranked second). Scholars Guild Academy put the hurt on Peachtree Academy with a sharp 18-6 win on Friday. Fans of the Spartans have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.
Kerrigan Welch made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and two runs.

Welch wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Madison Kenny, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Kenny a new career-high. Another was Harley Minor, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Scholars Guild Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .565. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Trinity Prep got the win against Lyndon Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 11-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.
Sydney Zamor was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyliah Arnold, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
