Basketball Recap: Zoey Baldridge's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Grace Christian Academy over Grant Park

Grace Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 50-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Grant Park Dragons. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Dragons this season, with their most recent loss being a 38-30 defeat back in December of 2024.

Grace Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zoey Baldridge, who posted 12 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Miranda Glenn, who put up six points along with six rebounds and three blocks.

Baldridge wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Grace Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in three consecutive contests.

Grant Park found their leader in freshman Taylor Panozzo, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 boards. Grant Park is 5-2 when Panozzo posts ten or more rebounds, but 4-10 otherwise. Kennedy Marcotte was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and ten boards.

Grace Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Grant Park, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.

Grace Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 54-26 loss against Gardner-South Wilmington on the 6th. As for Grant Park, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-17 defeat against Clifton Central on the 6th.
