Viewmont faced Brighton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings came out on top against the Bengals by a score of 2-0. The victory was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won six contests in a row.

Matt Welsh paced Viewmont's offense, picking up seven kills. Welsh got some help from Dallin Lether and his 17 assists. Lether was also solid from the service line: he led the team with five aces.

Viewmont's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Brighton, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Viewmont didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Pleasant Grove on the 21st. As for Brighton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Sky View on the 21st.
