Softball Recap: Little Cypress-Mauriceville's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Little Cypress-Mauriceville waltzed into their match on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They never let the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns get on the board and left with a 7-0 win. Considering the Bears have won three contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Hamshire-Fannett's batters probably weren't too happy with Tessa Erickson, who pitched a no hitter (she gave up three walks). What's more, Erickson gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Keylie Washburn, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexis Moss, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hamshire-Fannett only posted an OBP of .130.

Little Cypress-Mauriceville's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs over those games. As for Hamshire-Fannett, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4-2.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Little Cypress-Mauriceville will take on West Orange-Stark at 6:30 p.m. on March 4th. As for Hamshire-Fannett, they will challenge Hargrave at 6:00 p.m. on March 4th.
