Baseball Recap: Yreka Sets Scoring Season-High Against Phoenix

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Yreka). They put the hurt on the Phoenix Pirates with a sharp 21-7 victory on Saturday. With that win, the Miners brought their scoring average up to 7.2 runs per game.

Gabe Gregg made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zane Vann, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Brody Zediker was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
