Softball Recap: Houston Comes Up Short

Houston lost against Calhoun City last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hilltoppers fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 7-6. The Hilltoppers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aliyah Beltran was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs while going 1-for-2. Jaylen Brassfield also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Houston's loss dropped their record down to 6-18. As for Calhoun City, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Houston will challenge Vardaman at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Calhoun City, they will take on Palmer at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
