Softball Game Preview: Miamisburg Vikings vs. Springfield Wildcats

For the second straight game, Miamisburg will face off against Springfield. The Vikings will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Miamisburg turned things around against Springfield on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 12-1 victory. The game marked the Vikings' most dominant win of the season.

The team relied heavily on Mikaela Holp, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Ryla Zering was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Miamisburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Springfield is on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7. As for Miamisburg, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
