Softball Recap: Russell Takes a Loss

Russell lost against Johnson Central back in May of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Red Devils took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Eagles. The Red Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ella Wilson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Another player making a difference was Gabby Oborne, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Russell's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Johnson Central, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Coming up, Russell will take on Fern Creek at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Johnson Central, they will square off against South Point at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Golden Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pointers have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
