Centerville hadn't beaten Chariton on the road since May 24, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Monday. The Big Reds/Redettes blew past the Chargers 15-5. Considering the Big Reds/Redettes have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The win made it two in a row for Centerville and bumps their season record up to 9-6. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Chariton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Chargers beat Centerville by a score of 10-7 later that day.
