Winthrop has gone 8-2 against Mountain Valley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Ramblers will venture away from home to face off against the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Winthrop and three for Mountain Valley.

Monmouth Academy hit Winthrop with a eight-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Ramblers lost 15-1 to the Mustangs.

Lisbon hit Mountain Valley with a four-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons fell 9-5 to the Greyhounds. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 19, 2017, but that streak is no more.

Mackenzie Gammon made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season. Madisyn McLean was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Winthrop's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Mountain Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.

Winthrop might still be hurting after the 19-7 loss they got from Mountain Valley when the teams last played back in April. Can the Ramblers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
