Baseball Game Preview: Lindsay Leopards vs. Chickasha Fighting Chicks

Lindsay hasn't had much luck against Chickasha recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Lindsay will face off against Chickasha at 12:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Lindsay sitting on four straight victories and Chickasha on five.

On Tuesday, Lindsay made easy work of Little Axe and carried off a 13-5 win. The Leopards might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Chickasha got themselves on the board against Bridge Creek on Tuesday, but Bridge Creek never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 8-0 victory. The Fighting Chicks are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the sixth contest they've won by 6+ runs this season.

Layton Bryan was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since March 3rd. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Bryan wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaiden Boswell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another was Cason Ledford, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Chickasha's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lindsay, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
