Softball Recap: Darien Has No Trouble Against Greenwich

Darien never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Greenwich Cardinals 11-0. The Blue Wave might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Vivian Knott was a major factor no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one double.

Darien's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Greenwich, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Darien will venture away from home to square off against Warde at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Blue Wave's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Greenwich, they will face off against Stamford at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cardinals are facing the Black Knights at the right time seeing as the Black Knights are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
