Basketball Recap: P.K. Yonge Takes a Loss

P.K. Yonge played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Newberry Panthers and fell 72-34. While losing is never fun, the Blue Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Panthers are ranked 20th).

Newberry's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Green, who posted 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Matthias, who put up eight points and three steals.

P.K. Yonge has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season. As for Newberry, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 21-0.

P.K. Yonge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 71-53 defeat against The Rock on the 1st. Newberry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
