Basketball Recap: San Lorenzo Valley Comes Up Short

San Lorenzo Valley lost against Scotts Valley two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The San Lorenzo Valley Cougars were dealt an 85-50 defeat at the hands of the Scotts Valley Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1108th, while the Falcons are ranked 551st).

Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Noah Steiger, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 14 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Cox, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points and six rebounds.

San Lorenzo Valley dropped their record down to 5-16 with the loss, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Scotts Valley, their win bumped their record up to 11-12.

San Lorenzo Valley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-47 defeat against Santa Cruz on the 8th. As for Scotts Valley, they have also already played their next game, a 45-30 loss against Soquel on the 8th.
