Football Recap: Lockport Takes a Loss

Lockport extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping them down to 1-6. They were beaten by the West Seneca West Warhawks 34-6. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 348th, while the Warhawks are ranked 137th).

As for West Seneca West, they pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.7 points over those games.

West Seneca West found their leader in freshman Mason Anderson, who threw for 143 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 42 yards. Troy Mobley also helped with two TDs in total.

Lockport wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 57-14 defeat against Jamestown on the 24th. As for West Seneca West, they have also already played their next matchup, a 17-0 victory against West Seneca East on the 24th.
