Soccer Recap: Wade Hampton Comes Up Short

After flying high against Gaffney on Monday, Wade Hampton came back down to earth. The Generals fell just short of the James F. Byrnes Rebels by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against James F. Byrnes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-3 on April 2nd.

Wade Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for James F. Byrnes, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wade Hampton will head out to face off against Eastside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Eastside will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Wade Hampton surely won't give up without a fight. As for James F. Byrnes, they will venture away from home to challenge Boiling Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
