Basketball Recap: Buena Vista Bison vs. Fremont Tigers
Buena Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 40-28 to the Fremont Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, with their most recent loss being a 50-39 defeat back in December of 2024.
Jenna McClain was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 17 points and 12 boards for Fremont. That makes it three consecutive games in which McClain has scored at least a third of Fremont's points. Another player making a difference was Kate Denker, who posted seven points.
Buena Vista's record now sits at 3-18. As for Fremont, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-13.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buena Vista will venture away from home to take on Omaha Westside at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Omaha Westside knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Buena Vista likes a good challenge. As for Fremont, they are taking a road trip to challenge Columbus at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
