Baseball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

The Liberty Bison lost 8-2 to the Arlington Lions on Monday. The Bison have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Liberty got a good showing from Cody Smith, who pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. What's more, Smith posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Liberty saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jake Feidner, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Rowen Baynes also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Arlington, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

While Liberty had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
