Volleyball Recap: Mattamuskeet Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Mattamuskeet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the Ocracoke Dolphins. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since September 20, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-16, 25-21.

Carley Roberts paced Mattamuskeet's offense, picking up five kills. Roberts got some help from Savanah Whitfield and her four assists. Olivia Simmons controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Mattamuskeet's defeat dropped their record down to 0-15. As for Ocracoke, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 3-5 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Mattamuskeet is set to square off against their familiar foe Cape Hatteras at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Ocracoke will take on rival Hobgood Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
