Volleyball Recap: Johnson Creek Takes a Loss

The Johnson Creek Bluejays didn't have quite enough to beat Varsity Opponent on Saturday and fell 2-1. The Bluejays have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Johnson Creek sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 16-25, 15-12.

Despite the defeat, Johnson Creek saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Olivia Frey had six digs and two aces. Frey has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Caroline Armstrong, who had eight digs and two aces.

Johnson Creek's loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Coming up, Johnson Creek has the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome Whitewater at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Varsity Opponent, they will host Heartland Christian at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday.
