Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Birch Run

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Durand, Birch Run was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They secured a 40-36 W over the Lakeville Falcons. The win was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 491st, while the Falcons are ranked 232nd).

Birch Run moved to 4-8 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Lakeville, they moved to 10-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Birch Run will be playing in front of their home fans against New Lothrop at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Lakeville, they will head out on the road to square off against Durand at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
