Volleyball Recap: Brookfield Central Takes a Loss

Brookfield Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Hamilton Chargers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lancers of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-14, 17-25, 25-23, 25-12.

Olivia Witon paced Brookfield Central's offense, picking up 13 kills. Witon got some help from Emma Duff and her 26 assists. Carolyn Gauntt controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Madison McCauley had an outrageously good game for Hamilton as she had 11 digs and five aces. Those 11 digs gave McCauley a new career-high.

Brookfield Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Hamilton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Brookfield Central is set to square off against their familiar foe Germantown at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Hamilton will challenge rival West Allis Hale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
