Football Recap: Macon County Comes Up Short

Macon County scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 47-46 to the Manchester Blue Devils. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Despite the loss, Macon County still got an impressive performance from Jakeyveon Parker, who rushed for 215 yards and three scores while picking up 11.9 yards per carry. Parker is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 105 every time he's taken the field this season. Ja'Marion Stewart was another key player, gaining 97 total yards and a touchdown.

Macon County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Manchester, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Looking ahead, Macon County will look to defend their home field on Friday against Crawford County at 7:30 p.m. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 995 yards in their previous games. As for Manchester, they will challenge Spencer at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
