Baseball Recap: Shoemaker Takes a Loss

If Shoemaker was riding high fresh off their 6-0 takedown of Lorena last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Shoemaker Wolves came up short against the Caldwell Hornets on Saturday, falling 9-3.

Damian Montanez-Figueroa was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Shoemaker's loss dropped their record down to 6-4-2. As for Caldwell, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Shoemaker will be playing at home against Temple at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shoemaker is facing Temple at the right time seeing as Temple is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. Caldwell will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Thrall at 7:00 p.m. on March 18th.
