Softball Game Preview: Pratt Greenbacks vs. Dodge City Demons

The Pratt Greenbacks will square off against the Dodge City Demons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pratt has three straight victories, Dodge City has 15 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Pratt gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over Smoky Valley. Considering the Greenbacks have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Dodge City came up short against Thomas More Prep-Marian on Friday, falling 18-1.

Dodge City saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tatum Steiner, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Kiana Tasaka also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Pratt's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.7 runs over those games. As for Dodge City, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.

Everything went Pratt's way against Dodge City when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Pratt made off with a 13-3 win. Do the Greenbacks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Demons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
