Basketball Recap: Westbrook Takes a Loss

Westbrook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Old Lyme Wildcats, falling 74-32. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 45th).

Westbrook's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Old Lyme, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

Westbrook has already played their next matchup (against Old Saybrook), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Old Lyme will challenge Coginchaug Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Coginchaug Regional's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
