It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact La Joya Community can now relate to. They took a 56-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Paradise Valley Trojans on Friday. The Fighting Lobos' defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.

La Joya Community lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Isaiah Carter, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Joseph Rukundo, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 15 points and six rebounds.

Paradise Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Omari Gilbert led the charge by going 5-for-7 en route to 13 points. Gilbert is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 67% in the last three games he's played. Shayden Yarde was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

La Joya Community's loss dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Paradise Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 17-10.

La Joya Community does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Paradise Valley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 85-58 defeat against Central on the 26th.
