Football Recap: Scripps Ranch Comes Up Short + How To Watch

While it was Scripps Ranch who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was Christian who put up more. The Falcons were just a hair shy of victory and fell 16-15 to the Patriots. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Falcons came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 221st, while the Patriots are ranked 468th).

Despite the loss, Scripps Ranch still got an impressive performance from Malachi Sayles, who rushed for 101 yards and one score.

A big part of Christian's win came down to the chemistry between Kaleb Runkle and his top target Kai Rosier. Runkle threw for 171 yards and one TD while Rosier picked up 86 receiving yards and one touchdown. Christian also relied on Rosier, who's 51-yard boot wound up being the difference in the game.

The loss snapped Scripps Ranch's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-3 record. As for Christian, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Scripps Ranch will head out to face off against Cathedral Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Christian, they will venture away from home to take on St. Augustine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
