Basketball Game Preview: Union Academy Cardinals vs. Albemarle Bulldogs

The Union Academy Cardinals will square off against the Albemarle Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Union Academy is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a 68-35 loss at the hands of Monroe. The contest marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Lloyd Barnes, who posted eight points and three blocks. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in blocks. Another player making a difference was Jaqwon Harrell, who went 7-for-13 en route to 14 points.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 86-52, which was the final score in Albemarle's tilt against North Stanly on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Comets recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Albemarle's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for Union Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-9.
