Basketball Recap: Wakefield Country Day's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak at Home

Wakefield Country Day won the last time they faced Massanutten Military Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Wakefield Country Day Owls came out on top in a nail-biter against the Massanutten Military Academy Colonels, sneaking past 47-45. The team accrued 33 points in the first half and coasted on those for the win.

Wakefield Country Day's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alfredo Martinez, who went 9 of 21 en route to 20 points and five steals. Martinez's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Jacob Didomenico was another key player, putting up 12 points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Wakefield Country Day's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-9. As for Massanutten Military Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Wakefield Country Day will head out to take on Chelsea Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Massanutten Military Academy has already played their next match (against Redeemer Classical), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
