Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Union Area's Seventh in Last Nine Outings

Union Area posted their closest victory since December 28, 2024 on Tuesday. They skirted past the Shenango Wildcats 62-59. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 69-57 on January 3rd.

Union Area's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lucas Stanley, who went 8 of 17 en route to 24 points along with six boards and six steals. Stanley's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Landon Eckert was another key player, going 6 for 13 on his way to 19 points.

Union Area is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.6 points per game. As for Shenango, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.
