Basketball Recap: Central Christian Has No Trouble Against Fairfield

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Central Christian's strategy against Fairfield on Tuesday. The Central Christian Cougars were the clear victor by a 56-35 margin over the Fairfield Falcons. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 21 points or more this season.

Despite the defeat, Fairfield saw an underclassman step up: freshman Aaliyah Baker went 5 of 12 on her way to 16 points in addition to five steals and three blocks. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for Baker. The team also got some help courtesy of Rhylee Haskins, who posted five points.

Central Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-4-1. As for Fairfield, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-7 record.

Central Christian will take on Solomon at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Central Christian's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Solomon has been banged up by seven consecutive losses on the road. Fairfield has already played their next contest (against Chaparral), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
