Baseball Recap: Red Springs' Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

Red Springs was the 4-2 winner over Lakewood when they last played one another on Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Red Springs Red Devils fell just short of the Lakewood Leopards by a score of 3-2 on Friday.

Red Springs saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacoby Lowey, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. TJ Ellerbe also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Red Springs' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lakewood, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Red Springs will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Hoke County at 6:00 p.m. Red Springs is facing Hoke County at the right time seeing as Hoke County is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Lakewood, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 17-0 victory against Union on the 18th.
