Football Recap: Dawson Has No Trouble Against Sam Rayburn + How To Watch

Dawson won the last time they faced Sam Rayburn and things went their way on Friday too. The Eagles put the hurt on the Texans with a sharp 31-6 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Eagles' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 140th, while the Texans are ranked 634th).

Luke Brown had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 60 yards and a pair of TDs, and also threw for 164 yards and one touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (144.4). Evan Delucia was another key player, rushing for 54 yards and one score.

The win made it two in a row for Dawson and bumps their season record up to 6-2. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.0 points over those games. As for Sam Rayburn, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Coming up, Dawson will square off against Alvin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles will be up against the Yellowjackets' rather soft defense (which has allowed 37.43 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Sam Rayburn, they will host Dobie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
