Softball Recap: Orofino Beats Priest River for Their Third Straight Win

Orofino put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 24-7 margin over the Priest River Spartans. That's more bragging rights for the Maniacs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Sady Olive was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Olive was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Rilee Diffin and Livia Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Diffin went 2-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Johnson went 4-for-5 with six RBI and two runs. Those six RBI gave Johnson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rachael Province, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Orofino was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .548. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Orofino's victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

They will have a chance to go back-to-back against Priest River: the pair will be back at it again later today.
