Plant and Wharton squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Plant had to settle for second. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The Panthers' defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.

WYATT PATTERSON made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of DESAN DECAMP, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Plant's loss dropped their record down to 23-7. As for Wharton, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-6 record this season.

While Plant had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
