Recap: Durango Demons vs. Farmington Scorpions
The Durango Demons struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (the Farmington Scorpions had 1000% more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Durango suffered a rough 52-26 defeat at the hands of Farmington. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Durango in their matchups with Farmington: they've now lost six in a row.
Lilly Fitzpatrick was Durango's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Fitzpatrick also led the team in rebounds with seven.
Mariah Maestas took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
Farmington was led to victory by Kapiolani Anitielu and Ayana Toledo. Anitielu scored 9 points along with 8 steals and 7 rebounds, while Toledo scored 8 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Caris Dale was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 3 steals.
Durango's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Farmington, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Durango will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Discovery Canyon at 6:30 p.m. on December 7th. Hopefully Discovery Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 25 on Saturday. Farmington won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Gallup at 7:00 p.m. on December 6th.
