Softball Recap: Weston's Losing Streak Snapped at Eight Games

Weston had to endure an eight-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Joel Barlow Falcons on Wednesday. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Falcons back in April, they had to take a 18-7 loss.

Lily Moskoff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alice Sullivan, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley McCain, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Weston kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Weston's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-7 and their overall record up to 2-11. As for Joel Barlow, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Weston has already played their next contest (against Notre Dame Prep), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Joel Barlow, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 19-1 defeat against Masuk on the 10th.
