Softball Game Preview: Wallington Panthers vs. Garfield Boilermakers

Wallington is a perfect 4-0 against Garfield since April of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will head out to challenge the Boilermakers at 4:00 p.m. Neither Wallington nor Garfield posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Wallington's offense. They came up short against Morris Catholic on Wednesday, falling 7-0. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Garfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 16-0 to Becton.

Garfield's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Wallington, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Wallington took their win against Garfield in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Boilermakers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
