Basketball Recap: Havelock Gets the Win

Havelock hadn't done well against New Bern recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Havelock Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 66-64 victory over the New Bern Bears. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 82-57 back in December of 2024.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jussan Wiggins, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 15 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Wiggins has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last nine times he's played. Terry Riggins was another key player, putting up 13 points and five rebounds.

Havelock's record now sits at 11-8. As for New Bern, their loss dropped their record down to 12-9.

As of now, neither Havelock nor New Bern have any future games scheduled.
