Basketball Game Preview: Dakota Ridge Eagles vs. Evergreen Cougars

Dakota Ridge and Evergreen are an even 3-3 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Dakota Ridge Eagles will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Evergreen Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Dakota Ridge will be strutting in after a victory while Evergreen will be coming in after a loss.

Last Wednesday, Dakota Ridge strolled past Pomona with points to spare, taking the game 54-37. The contest marked the Eagles' most dominant win of the season.

Dakota Ridge found their leader in sophomore Emery Bowman, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Bowman is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kate Barbic, who posted six points and five steals.

Meanwhile, Evergreen was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 49-48 to Standley Lake. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The match pitted two dominant forwards against one another in Addie McEvers and Sydney Martin. Martin had a solid game and dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds. Meanwhile, McEvers did her best for the losing side, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine boards.

Evergreen's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Dakota Ridge, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11.
