Basketball Recap: St. Boniface Catholic Classical vs. St. Mary's

This season hasn't been kind to St. Boniface Catholic Classical, who are still winless after their fifth game. They were dealt a 89-29 loss at the hands of St. Mary on Friday. St. Boniface Catholic Classical was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 51-17.

St. Mary's was led to victory by Taylor Darnell and Evan Hodge. Darnell scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Hodge scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. John Brogan was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

St. Boniface Catholic Classical dropped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.6 points per game. As for St. Mary's, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

St. Boniface Catholic Classical will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the at 6:30 p.m. on February 13th. As for St. Mary's, they will head out on the road to square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
