Basketball Game Preview: Buffalo Bison vs. Bemidji Lumberjacks

The Buffalo Bison will head out to face off against the Bemidji Lumberjacks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Bemidji is hoping to do what Annandale couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Buffalo's winning streak, which now stands at three games. Buffalo came out on top against Annandale by a score of 58-51.

While Bemidji didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging an 84-48 victory over Delano. Given the Lumberjacks' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 41st, while the Tigers are ranked 193rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Buffalo has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Bemidji, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Everything came up roses for Buffalo against Bemidji in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, as the team secured an 86-58 victory. Does Buffalo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Bemidji turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
