Basketball Recap: South Plainfield's Loss Ends Ten-Game Winning Streak at Home

South Plainfield entered their matchup against Sayreville on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The South Plainfield Tigers received a blow as they fell 73-56 to the Sayreville Bombers. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bombers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

South Plainfield's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-2. As for Sayreville, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

South Plainfield will be playing at home against Bernards at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bernards will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something South Plainfield surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sayreville, they will square off against North Brunswick at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
