Basketball Recap: Finley Love and Grace Workman Secure Win for Cottage

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Cottage ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Non Varsity Opponent 31-28. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Cougars as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Cottage was led to victory by Grace Workman and Finley Love. Workman dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 steals, while Love posted 12 points in addition to six boards and six steals. The dominant performance also gave Love a new career-high in blocks (four). Another player making a difference was Bonnie Bolton-Hogg, who earned a point along with 21 rebounds and three steals.

Cottage smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Cottage's win bumped their record up to 5-10.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Cottage Cougars take on the Atlanta Area School for the Deaf Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 27-21 victory against Moffat on the 31st.
