Carbon Hill took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Cordova, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Bulldogs had just enough and edged out the Blue Devils 10-9. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Carbon Hill let AnnaLynne Dutton and Taygen Dozier run wild. Dutton scored two runs while going 2-for-4, while Dozier scored a run while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs Dutton has posted since back in March. Cam Goolsby also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

The victory snapped Carbon Hill's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 10-13 record. As for Cordova, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Carbon Hill will host Dora at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cordova, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Hayden at 4:30 p.m. The Wildcats will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
