Pierce extended their home winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Leslye Velasquez. The Bears had just enough and edged out the East Nicolaus Spartans 3-2 for which the team can thank Velasquez, who had 24 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Pierce was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 22-25, 22-25, 25-20, 15-11.

When it comes to explaining why East Nicolaus lost on Thursday, don't look at Ashlynn Tagala. Despite the final result, she had 26 digs and two assists.

Pierce's win bumped their record up to 18-7. As for East Nicolaus, the loss snapped their winning streak at ten matches and leaves them with a 26-3 record.
