Basketball Preview: Clear Creek Golddiggers vs. Heritage Christian Eagles
Clear Creek is 0-5 against the Eagles since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Clear Creek Golddiggers will be playing at home against the Heritage Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Clear Creek will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Eagles are ranked 64th).
Last Thursday, Clear Creek had to suffer through a rough 86-47 loss at the hands of the Thunder. Clear Creek has struggled against the Thunder recently, as their game on Thursday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Collin Hendrickson put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 25 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Zephyr Schuessler, who scored five points along with four steals and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Heritage Christian entered their tilt with the Dragons with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Heritage Christian walked away with a 73-62 win over the Dragons on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Clear Creek has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Heritage Christian, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
