Basketball Recap: Lane Tech Gets the Win

Lane Tech extended their postseason success on Friday against New Trier. They walked away with a 67-57 win over the New Trier Trevians. The victory continues a trend for the Champions in their matchups with the Trevians: they've now won three in a row.

Zach Mazanowski had an outrageously good game as he went 7-for-15 en route to 22 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Szafoni, who put up 14 points and eight boards.

Lane Tech was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They are 18-5 when they've passed the ball that well.

Lane Tech's win bumped their record up to 20-11. As for New Trier, their loss dropped their record down to 21-12.

Coming up, Lane Tech will take on Evanston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lane Tech has given up an average of 52.6 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. New Trier does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
