Recap: Black River Pirates vs. Keystone Wildcats
The Black River Pirates suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were beaten by Keystone 61-9. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Black River in their matchups with Keystone: they've now lost six in a row.
Keystone found their leader in underclassman Madyson Sokolowski, who scored 21 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Sokolowski has scored all season. Helayna Houston was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Black River's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Keystone, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Black River on the road again on Wednesday and play against Clearview at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Clearview will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Keystone, they will head out on the road to face off against Elyria at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Elyria has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 11.
